Vancouver is a truly unique city. The beauty of the ocean and mountains attracts new residents from all over the world, making it a cosmopolitan metropolis. Those same mountains and ocean mean the population is active, taking full advantage of the blessings that nature has provided.
Once based solely on resources, the economy is now much more diversified with a strong tourism, film and television and shipping sectors. Forty of Canada’s corporate head offices are located in Metro Vancouver.
Vancouver is the wealthiest city in Canada and has been voted the third most livable in the world. However, we’re the third worst dressed city in the world – apparently yoga pants are not actually pants. Our temperate climate means that we can ski, sail and golf in the winter time – and if you’re really ambitious it can all be done on the same day. Our spectacular scenery and climate were showcased to the world during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and as a result, Canada is now the number one country brand in the world.
